A Matriarca: uma estoria de Mesticagens
The Matriarch is a polyphonic novel that recounts the experience of men and, above all, of women, in a rereading of the origin of the peoples, of the history of Africa and, especially of Cape Verde, rescuing the ancestral and contemporaneous mesticagem of the Cape Verdeans, the representations about social life and cultural practices. The plot is based on two interlacing love stories: Ester the protagonist and Peter, a young Swedish son of a Cape Verdean father who comes to Cape Verde in search of his paternal family and Ingrid a Swedish woman who had a son by a corporal -Verdian with him is reunited in Santa Maria, island of Sal, thirty years later.
