Ricaneuse (La) (Précommande : Parution 9 Septembre 2024).
Description:
A Montreal family saga that takes root in the farms at the foot of Mount Royal where the embroidered melon is grown at the end of the 19th century, La Ricaneuse navigates between Mary Gallagher, famous ghost of Griffintown, the tavern owner Charles McKiernan, friend of the poor and bear trainer, and a mysterious child prophet who produces futuristic drawings. In love with the young Agnès abandoned at the hospital for unwed mothers, the latter tries to adapt to the harshness of a city where a cruel bat woman will try to alter his destiny, where the religious hold processions in the streets to annihilate the potato bug that has ravaged the fields for too long, where a century later a child will mysteriously disappear from Expo 67.
