Colui che e nell'ombra
Description:
Four generations of a noble family in Friuli from 1937 to today. The narration, by the mouth of the intendant of the Avogadro counts, does not unfold slowly day after day, month after month, but proceeds through significant moments, small or large, that stand out in the succession of the years, and has as its backdrop the progressive change of a region in the thirties peripheral, agricultural, feudal and in some respects magical, with the sudden acceleration of the post-war period, from the economic boom to widespread well-being and the loss of traditions and references. On this background tapestry - in which Tuzzi displays knowledge and direct memories, fascinated by popular traditions and caustic towards the present - the events of the Avogadro family follow one another, in the progressive becoming a father of he who was a son, and who as a father with his own son renews the clash between generations. In the background, silent and wise, the women of the family hold the threads of life. But the time given to the Avogadros is crossed, like a karst vein, by a black legend that has as its protagonist the restless spirit of an ancestor. To the superstitions of the countryside is therefore added the shadow of a damned soul. And finally someone will come, not as a thief in the night but as a vortex in the wind. Isn't Friuli, after all, a land of storms and primroses
