Il talento degli scomparsi
Description:
Marco is a famous Milanese actor on the twilight of his career. The films he starred in won Oscars, now he plays "prestigious" roles as a deceased in B-series films. And when he's not lying in a coffin waiting for the clapperboard, he's left with long, solitary walks filled with memories. The only touch of vivacity in his existence comes from Luciana, the "sado-masomasterchef" who likes sexual games based on grains of mustard. Mirko is a crazy boy from the province of Lecce. Having landed in Rome in search of fortune, it was enough for him to put his name on a billboard to become a star. Now, however, not even he can understand the reasons for such success: it seems to him that the reality in which he is immersed is a script of the absurd written by an invisible hand. Marco would like to disappear, Mirko wants to appear. The first comes from the North, the second is a son of the South. One is of a certain age and has a good dose of regrets, the other has the future ahead of him and a celebrity he is incapable of managing. Their destinies touch each other several times until they cross in a crescendo of hilarious and delirious situations: from the rants of the ramshackle agent Nando, who represents them both, to the flirtation they share with the mysterious Lara, passing through a band of jealous brothers with a license to kill. Finally, a bizarre will will shuffle the cards and bring to light some secrets of the past. Funny and irreverent. But also introspective and visionary. Ranging with happy lightness from one register to another, Claudio Bisio gives us a novel full of lucid madness, with a surprise ending that will make you want to read it all over again
