Tante parole, poi l'amore
Description:
The ten lives that pass through the entire day of this novel pass by without being truly lived. Characters who inhabit, almost like guests, pigeonholed existences, faithful to the roles of loving fathers, present husbands, irreproachable teachers, attentive mothers, women without weaknesses, impeccable professionals. But the balance they have laboriously found risks being lost. Once the door of their home or office is closed, they reveal themselves as men and women fleeing from the present in which they are forced, who look with nostalgia and regret at a past season, the one in which dreams could still be chased. Now, however, they feel trapped in a distorted idea of themselves in which they do not recognize themselves. Denying themselves the possibility of existing authentically makes them suffer, but they do not have the courage to confess who they are and what they really want. Nothing changes, without a disruption, yet they do not have the strength to unleash this earthquake. Giulio Perrone stages a series of double lives that proceed in parallel, sometimes they seem to be one step away from giving in, other times close to a revolutionary gesture capable of overturning everything. However, none of them has taken into account the power of chance, capable of uncovering vessels that seemed hermetic. None of them is prepared to show the mask that they have been wearing for too long
