Jubiaba
Description:
Jubiabá, a story about the lives of black people and the humble people of Salvador, has as its protagonist Antônio Balduíno, a poor and orphaned boy born in the favela, where he lives with the former slave and centenarian priest Jubiabá. As a child, Baldo dreams that one day his story will be sung in an ABC, a popular composition in praise of heroes and saints. When his adoptive aunt goes mad, Baldo is handed over to the custody of Comendador Pereira. Living comfortably in the new house, he has as company the girl Lindinalva, the commander's daughter. One day, however, he is forced to flee, and the adventures that will make him famous begin.
