Dog Man - Book 1
Description:
The first volume, "Dog Man," by Dav Pilkey, is a hardcover comic in book format. The coloring, matching the simple, child-friendly illustrations, is by Jose Garibaldi, a visual development artist at DreamWorks. The text is clear and is interrupted several times by a small flip book. The introduction is by George and Harold, aka Dav Pilkey: After police officer Ritter and his dog Greg were lured into a trap by the villainous cat Petey, Dog Man was created, a guardian of the law with a human body and a dog's head. He is caninely devoted to his superior and, in four chapters, fights against crook Petey, a vacuum cleaner, a deceitful mayor, and animated hot dogs. Pilkey's stories have a childlike sense of humor with a sense of fun, original ideas, and unusual characters. A clear good/evil portrayal with a positive basic pattern and a canine hero who takes unconventional paths invites you to an "animalistic" reading experience. With short portraits of the participants and drawing instructions for the main characters
