Description:

It's the end of the Taisho era, in Senba, Osaka. Soichiro, a painter, has been unable to accept the death of his wife, Wako. Still pining for her, he asks a shrine maiden to summon her spirit, but is unsuccessful and is warned that she is "not an ordinary spirit." Soichiro's fears become a reality, and Wako appears before him, but her voice and presence are distorted. While investigating Wako's spirit, Soichiro encounters a faceless creature called "Erimaki." Erimaki claims to fill its stomach by feeding on spirits who are unaware of their deaths, and sets out to capture Wako's spirit, but is thwarted by a multitude of "somethings." As the two pursue the mystery of the strange phenomenon, they come face to face with a horrifying truth
