April 2020. As the COVID-19 pandemic rages, a woman visits Furukawa of the Saitama Prefectural Police. She claims to be the niece of Kayaba Keiichiro, the founder of an online shopping company and a modern-day millionaire who had suddenly passed away from COVID-19 the day before. Keiichiro had paid a large sum of money to secretly receive an unapproved vaccine, so there's no way he could have died from COVID-19. Furukawa asks for an autopsy to be performed by the Department of Forensic Medicine at Urawa University of Medicine.
