Die Hummerfrauen
Description:
Ann (72) is the oldest lobster fisherwoman in Stone Harbor. She lives alone in a large seaside house and is sarcastic--hard on herself and on others--with the sole exception of her blue lobster, Mr. Darcy, who resides in a tank in her kitchen. Julie (54) found her way back to life only after a severe accident, finding solace aboard her fishing boat. She unhesitatingly inserts herself into the lives of anyone she deems to be in need of help. Yet when she falls in love with Nat, a widower, old wounds stand in the way of a fresh start. Following a tragic loss, Mina (28) is drawn back to Maine--to the very place where her family had last known happiness, many years ago. She crosses paths with Ann and Julie, who take her under their wing and teach her the art of lobster fishing. And she meets Sam again--Sam, who never left her side during those long-ago summer vacations, and whose family, too, was never quite the same after that final summer in Maine.
