Die Victoria Verschwörung
Description:
September 2016. A desperate plea for help reaches Lennard Lomberg from London. Sir Douglas McEwan, Director of the Royal Collection Trust, is beside himself. An anonymous blackmailer claims that the Queen's favorite painting is a fake--and that the original is in his possession. Furthermore, he threatens to expose an explosive conspiracy surrounding the artwork--one that would rock political London to its foundations, and the Royal Family right along with it. McEwan urges Lomberg to exercise the utmost discretion--especially since art appraiser Alexandra Cullen, who was scheduled to examine the painting immediately, has vanished without a trace. Aided by his daughter, Julie, Lomberg gradually unravels the painting's bloody secret, venturing deep into the shadowy realm of Anglo-German secret diplomacy. Yet both the blackmailer's identity and Alexandra Cullen's fate remain shrouded in mystery--and the clock is ticking relentlessly. Meanwhile, Detective Inspector Sina Röhm has picked up the trail of a foundation rumored to be funding a new right-wing political party. In the process, she stumbles upon a name that gives Lomberg pause--and soon sparks an outrageous suspicion within him...
