Description:
Saigon, from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day, has experienced many upheavals, resulting in a business environment that was sometimes favorable, sometimes restrictive and challenging. Nevertheless, people from all over the country who gathered here contributed greatly to creating a production system, though fragmented, that provided essential amenities for generations of city dwellers and the entire Southern region for a long time. Through images of trademarks, paintings, and advertisements printed in newspapers, this small book aims to introduce a part of the brand identity of products from the past. It helps today's readers visualize the production and business activities in Saigon - Gia Dinh - Cholon over the past half-century, and how technological advancements were applied to produce consumer goods. It also allows them to observe the design of some graphic products by Vietnamese, Chinese, and French artists in Saigon over the past hundred years
