Il sentiero delle pietre blu
Description:
Loredana is still a child when, in 1938, the Fascist racial laws mark her out as a persecuted outsider. Suddenly, she can no longer attend school or spend afternoons at the home of her best friend, Emilia. War breaks out, and after years of separation, the two girls find a way to reconnect, yet Loredana's life still hangs by a thread. There is only one possible escape route for her: a path marked by strange blue stones winding through a seemingly impenetrable forest. In a distant past, five perpetually warring tribes face a threat from the same invaders clad in black furs. As always, they fail to set aside their differences to fight the common enemy. It falls to the shy, withdrawn Lorei--joined by young people from other tribes--to find the courage to follow that same blue-stone path toward freedom. This collaborative work weaves together different eras, genres, and styles to remind us that only memory and unity among peoples can save us.
