Certa gente non dimentica
Description:
It is a scorching June. Rome is empty, the streets are deserted, and those remaining in the city barricade themselves behind sealed shutters, desperately seeking respite from the sun. Police Inspector Alina Mari receives an agitated call from her superior, Commissioner Angelo Bosisio: Libero Alberti, a yoga teacher and activist, has been found dead in a country farmhouse. His partner, Lisa Lucenti, has vanished without a trace. The couple had retreated to the area near Viterbo for a period of meditation. Then, something happened. Something serious. Journalists are already on the scene. Clues are scarce and fragmentary. A few days later, Alina suffers a terrible accident at the crime scene; after leaning over an upstairs balcony, she falls. The fall leaves her facing a long recovery. Confined to a hospital bed and slowly recuperating, she receives an unexpected visitor: Chiara Lucenti, Lisa's sister, who arrives offering to help with the investigation. Chiara reminds one of Lisa--or perhaps not: in the way she dresses, walks, and speaks, she seems determined to resemble her at all costs. Forced to contend with severe physical and emotional limitations, Alina struggles to keep a grip on the investigation, while the search for Lisa and the culprit turns into an obsession.
