Il silenzio della marea
Description:
When Nera stops in front of a magnificent villa perched above the sea--surrounded by a vast park filled with the scent of oleanders--her eyes are wide with wonder, yet she fears she might be in the wrong place. She has not arrived at this enchanting spot as just another tourist wandering through Liguria; she was summoned personally by the owner to carry out a specific task: helping him shed light on a collection of highly valuable antique caskets. Yet Leandro--the collector--does not seem pleased to have her at his estate, a place he has not left in years. Nera could not be more different: a free spirit, she chafes at being confined within the four walls of the study where she is forced to work under close supervision. As the days go by, however, she discovers--despite her initial reluctance--that Leandro is not the gruff old man he first appeared to be, but a man concealing a wounded soul. Everything changes when two other people unexpectedly arrive at the villa, upending the already precarious balance of that microcosm. Now, Nera finally senses that she is there for more than just work. She begins to feel Leandro's past trying to rise from the depths, like the water on a moonlit night. For life, like the tide, moves in unexpected ways and sweeps everything before it, washing away even the most painful memories.
