Description:

The Philippines, 1945. General Tomoyuki Yamashita raises his glass to congratulate the technicians and engineers who have made a colossal undertaking possible: 175 underground vaults, protected by deadly booby traps, designed to house tons of gold and precious objects confiscated from occupied territories—treasures intended to rebuild the Empire. Yamashita then returns to the surface alone and blows up every exit. No one who knows of this secret bunker will ever get out alive. Switzerland, present day. It was supposed to be a simple favor: keep an eye on Kelly Austin, an executive at the Bank of San Giorgio, and intervene only if absolutely necessary. When two men dressed in black draw their guns on her, Cotton Malone has no idea who they are or whom they work for—but he knows he must act. And his gut tells him this is only the beginning... From Switzerland to Siberia, from the mountains of Morocco to the depths of Lake Geneva, Malone finds himself on the trail of a conspiracy that began in the Philippines at the end of World War II and has continued in the shadows for decades. Because those who control the money control the power—and now, someone is ready to step out of the shadows to establish a new world order.
