Description:
On a sunny day, a mole, a duck, and a snail were out enjoying a picnic together. "What if--just imagine--what if I weren't a duck?" With this whimsical question from the duck, the three friends began to share the thoughts they had been keeping close to their hearts. Although they love one another, they have different preferences and unique ways of expressing themselves. The mole, who loves firm potatoes freshly dug from the earth, often feels a secret sense of loneliness because he is so different from his friends; the duck, who has a vivid imagination, frequently finds himself overcome with fear when faced with the unknown; and the snail, who loves poetry, often feels a touch of sadness, worrying that his slow pace might be a burden to his friends. Yet, rather than finding fault with these differences, the three friends embrace one another exactly as they are--with warmth and affection. They remind each other that it's perfectly fine if plans go awry, that it's okay to summon a little more courage and step out into the world, and that because everyone moves at their own pace, there is no problem at all with being a bit slower than others.
