Description:
The winner of the 2nd Changbi Picture Book Award, *The Tree Leading Actor Award*, has been published. Set against the backdrop of the "Tree Leading Actor Award" ceremony held in the forest, the story features trees—who have silently fulfilled their roles in their respective places—as the protagonists. Described by the judges as "a work that brings a smile to your face throughout the reading thanks to its intriguing premise and quirky yet witty character portrayals," the novel imagination of a tree awards ceremony prompts us to re-examine the role of nature that we often overlook in our daily lives. Captured by the warm gaze of emerging author Park Ji-woo, who moves beings that have remained merely in the background to the center of life, the book leaves a lingering impression that encourages reflection on the meaning of the things that surround us. The well-structured visuals and lively illustrations that capture the expressions and gestures of the trees blend together to add vibrancy to the story.
