Dohwa, who works two jobs--at a supermarket wine section and as a Nepali court interpreter--receives a phone call from a lawyer named Jaeman. He offers her 100 million won to provide false interpretation in court for the defendant, Chamibhat. The goal is to ensure justice is served by securing the maximum sentence for a defendant who, despite overwhelming evidence and a confession, has suddenly changed her story. Struggling with personal bankruptcy and the aftereffects of cancer surgery, Dohwa accepts the dangerous deal despite her misgivings. Throughout the trial, she carries out the false interpretation as planned, ignoring Chamibhat's seemingly nonsensical statements. However, as she dwells on Chamibhat's testimony after the trial, she begins to uncover the truth hidden behind the deal
