Inspector Chavarino : a caixa do cisne
Description:
Chavarino doesn't ask for permission. He imposes himself. In "The Swan's Box", we follow an inspector marked by loss, hardened by life, and disillusioned with a system he no longer recognizes. Consumed by his son's death, he is called to investigate the murder of a young man in a transforming Lisbon neighborhood, but something collapses within him when he sees the body. Between panic attacks, a crumbling relationship, and an internal investigation that threatens to destroy him, Chavarino plunges into a case that quickly ceases to be merely a police matter. As the truth deepens, he also confronts the limits of his own sense of justice and the unsettling possibility of having gone too far. Raw, intense, and profoundly relevant, this novel exposes the fractures of a society in tension: from violence to cancel culture, from distrust in institutions to the desperate search for redemption.
