O que cede em silêncio
Description:
Since her mother died, Fatima drags along a spiritless body. Her marriage--barren, broken--endures through inertia, not love. The relationship with her children, especially the eldest, is tense: it doesn't crack, but corrodes. Trapped within herself, Fatima finds refuge only in silence. However, it is precisely in this space that the past devours her. And suddenly, the sounds begin. They emerge in the quiet of the house: small crackles, vague and muffled noises. They persist, gain strength, transform into breaths, footsteps; they are constant, exasperating, maddening. No one else hears them. As the boundary between perception and reality dissolves, you begin to feel the danger. What happens to a mind that has already metamorphosed into emptiness? When the abyss opens within us, no human being is safe from the destruction it can cause.
